New home for old Heralds
The 90th birthday feature in last week's Herald has resulted in queries from residents about access to previous articles and editions.
While our archives in the office date back to 1993, an almost complete chronicle of the Herald, dating back to the 1920s, can be found at the Brakpan Library.
According to Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe, these copies will be moved to the new library soon.
“Currently we are in the process of finalising all written-off and outdated furniture at the old library,” he said.
“We will definitely keep the old Heralds as we know there is a need for these for research purposes.”
