The body of an unidentified man was found concealed under cardboard boxes, on Friday morning, last week.
The discovery was made along Koot Street, near Heidelberg Road, in Withok Estates.
According to information received from Brakpan police, the body was found by an EMPD officer at about 7.15am.
The cause of death is not known, but the deceased had bruising on his upper chest and his face was swollen and smeared with blood.
A black jacket and a blue Nike tekkie were found next to the body.
A case of murder was opened at the Brakpan Police Station and investigations are underway to identify the man.
