Adamant robbers demand cash

They told the victim they knew he had R20 000 in his home.

Four house robbers assaulted a Leachville resident in his home, demanding thousands of Rand in cash.

The gang were adamant that there was so much money in the house and they wanted it.

The robbery took place on Thursday morning, last week, at an address along Jacaranda Avenue.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the resident was asleep in his home when he was awakened by torchlight.

The light was shone in his face and he saw four men in his bedroom, two of whom were armed with guns.

The robbers immediately began to assault him and demanded the money.

They told the victim they knew he had R20 000 in his home.

The robbers continued to assault the man and then bound his hands with electric wire.

They searched the house, taking a plasma television set and several pairs of shoes.

It was not divulged whether the robbers took any money.

A case of house robbery is being investigated.
