Fallen victim to crime at the mall? Report it to centre management and security first

Vital in order for the mall to investigate the matter in a timeous fashion.

The Mall@Carnival management team urges any customer who experiences crime or theft of any kind in the mall to immediately inform the centre management team and security.

“This is vital in order for us to investigate the matter in a timeous fashion,” said Shiley McPherson, Mall@Carnival marketing co-ordinator.

“This also gives our team the chance to identify if your property is still on the premises, which is only possible if the case is reported on the same day.

“Once you have reported the case to our management and security team, you should only then open a case with the SAPS.”

According to McPherson, there have been many instances in which insurance companies carry out their own investigation and discover that the matter was never reported to management or security, resulting in many of these cases being confirmed as fraudulent.

“We appeal to our customers to please follow this process in future,” she added.
