Weekend crime round-up

A man was robbed at knifepoint by three assailants.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A man, who was walking along Springs Street, in Denneoord, was robbed at knifepoint by three assailants at 3.15am. They searched the victim and stole his cellphone and cash.

Three burglaries were reported, at addresses along Des Fountain Street, Hoy Avenue and Northdene Avenue.

Television sets, a Hi-Fi system, a tablet, laptops, a cellphone and clothing were among the stolen items.

A white VW Golf, parked along Prince George Avenue, was stolen.

• Saturday – Two boys were robbed of their cellphones, at the corner of Van der Merwe and Austin streets, in Brenthurst, while they were riding on their bicycles. Read more here: Robber threatens to shoot boys for cellphones

Computers, clothing, television sets, a laptop and duvet sets were among the items stolen items during burglaries at a house in Witheide Avenue, in Leachville, a business situated in Victoria Avenue and another business in Coert Steynberg Street, in Van Eck Park.

A white Toyota was stolen at the corner of Hastings and Prince George avenues.

A white Hyundai H100’s battery was stolen while the vehicle was parked in Dirk van der Hoff Street, in Dalview.

A business robbery occurred in Prince George Road, in Anzac. A vehicle, cash, cigarettes and toiletry items were stolen.

• Sunday – Five house burglaries were reported, at addresses along McMillan Street, in Sherwood Gardens, Kitzinger Avenue, Kingsway Avenue, Clarendon Street and Bottlebrush Street, in Dalpark.

Jewellery, tools, television sets, laptops and cellphones were stolen.
