Two crimes, same street, same day
The crimes took place less than an hour apart.
A street in Brakpan North was the scene of a house robbery and a housebreaking on the same day.
The separate crimes took place less than an hour apart at residences along Walkden Avenue on Friday, last week.
The robbery took place at about 10am, when a man armed with a screwdriver terrorised a domestic worker and her friend.
He robbed one of the women of her jewellery before locking the pair in the bathroom.
Brakpan police did not disclose whether any goods were stolen from the house.
The break-in occurred only a few houses away from where the robbery took place.
The home invasion was discovered at about 10.47am when the homeowner’s son arrived at the property and found the front door and security gate had been forced open.
Two television sets, an amplifier, gas heater and jewellery were stolen.
