New wheels for Johannes

Johannes was recently robbed of his bicycle while cycling home from work.

Following the donation of a new bicycle, Brakpan SPCA groundskeeper Johannes Ngwenya is on the road again.

Johannes (52), or ”Farmer Brown” as he is affectionately known, was recently robbed of his bicycle while cycling home from work.

He has worked at the SPCA for about six years and the bicycle was his only means of transportation.

Johannes lives in Langaville Extension Six and cycles many kilometres to work and back.

During the robbery, he sustained injuries to his head, hand and arm, and his three attackers also took his cellphone, ID book and cash.

After hearing about Johannes’s plight, Angela Brinkley, from the Doggy Parlour, a dog grooming parlour in Freeway Park, Boksburg, donated a bicycle to him.

The parlour has groomed the SPCA’s kennel dogs for many years.

Johannes was thrilled when the bicycle was presented to him and hasn’t stopped smiling.
