Brakpan joins Ekurhuleni SAPS Cluster

The Ekurhuleni SAPS Central Cluster is under the leadership of acting commander Brig Poobalan Subbiah.

The Brakpan Police Station has been added to the Benoni SAPS Cluster, which is now known as the Ekurhuleni SAPS Central Cluster.

The Brakpan SAPS Cluster previously comprised the local station, Tsakane, Reiger Park, Boksburg and Boksburg North police stations.

These stations, with the exception of Tsakane, have now been amalgamated with the Benoni, Dawn Park, Crystal Park, Actonville, Putfontein, Daveyton and Etwatwa police stations.

The Ekurhuleni SAPS Central Cluster is under the leadership of acting commander Brig Poobalan Subbiah.

According to him, the stations were added into the cluster because the provincial cluster offices have been limited to 16.

“This will help reduce criminal activities such as drug operations, illegal mining activities, hijackings, aggravated robberies and gangsterism, as there will be members who will be focusing directly on those crimes,” Subbiah told the Herald’s sister newspaper, the Benoni City Times.

“We will also conduct bigger operations and have more police visibility in all the areas.”

Subbiah believes there will be more resources available to police, to be effective in serving the community.
