Another eyesore in the making

The park behind the swimming pool in Gardiner Avenue looks like a squatter camp.

I am a concerned Brakpan citizen.

The park behind the swimming pool in Gardiner Avenue looks like a squatter camp.

It started with two to six homeless people sleeping under the trees with blankets.

After a few days of rain, there are now plastic tents and washing all over the netball fields at the Charl Baard Stadium.

This is creating another eyesore for our town.

Is this why our youngsters move out of our towns to live overseas?

I work from early in the morning until late in the evening and my husband has worked on a commission basis for the last two years, just to make ends meet, while other people squat anywhere and everywhere.

I know I’m not the only Brakpan citizen who feels like this.

Once upon a time we were proud to stay in Brakpan, but now?

What is happening to our town?

Isn’t there anybody who can sort this out?

When I tried phoning to report it, I was told they can’t hear me over the phone.

What nonsense, they don’t want to hear me.
