Dancers rake trophies in

The Elite Dance Eisteddfod, organised by local dance studio Visions Dance Academy, was recently held at Brakpan Primary School, which supports the arts and culture in the local community.

The eisteddfod is a competition for dancers from the age of two to over 18, in modern, tap, ballet and hip-hop dancing. Dancers from 10 different dance studios from Springs, Brakpan, Benoni, Boksburg and Edenvale took part.

The dancers of the Visions Dance Academy did exceptionally well and raked in numerous trophies.

They won 67 trophies, taking many of the best duet, trio, quartet and group awards for modern, tap and hip-hop.

Top achievers in their age groups include: Alexis Botha, Gabriella Landers, Abigail Antonio, Clarissa Jager, Clarissa Botha, Helen Jager, Hayley Landers, Fransceska Leech and Gianna de Freitas.

The following dancers were awarded trophies for individual items: Isabeau Cilliers, Zaynia Delport, Chanel Delport, Annaline Pelser, Taylor-Shae Cox, Karla Jansen van Vuuren, Araya de Waal, Megan Jonker, Zuneldi Horn, Deanné van der Berg, Amindie de Beer, Anastasiya Krot, Alexis Botha, Gabriella Landers, Hayley Landers, Gianna de Freitas, Mirella de Freitas, Jolindi Zietsman, Clarissa Botha, Helen Jager, Juané van Zyl, Nikita Meyer, Michelle Kamffer, Fransceska Leech, Leandré Stander, Abigail Antonio and Clarissa Jager.
