Disabled parking bays are abused

Brakpan resident writes: I am referring to the letter in the Herald dated October 6 (Don’t park there you scum).

I agree with Dougie Douglas, his letter is almost as if I wrote it myself. (Read the letter here)

My mom is in a wheelchair and when we visit the Mall@Carnival we often don’t get parking. Most of the cars on the wheelchair parking do not have stickers.

Many of them are elderly, people with crutches or people with baby strollers. Why do these people think it’s ok for them to park there?

Especially at the end of the month we have to park far away and struggle while they conveniently park where we should have parked.

I hope these people feel guilty for what they do. But they probably never do, because they think they have the right to park there.
