‘Arrogant scum’ should be named and shamed

Dougie Douglas writes by e-mail: On Wednesday, October 14, at 9.45am, I exited the Mall@Carnival at entrance 3 and found a Mercedes parked in the wheelchair parking space.

There were no stickers on the Mercedes that indicated it was allowed to be parked there.

I asked the car guard why it was parked there and she told me that the driver told her to f… off after she told him he was not allowed to park there.

As I was speaking to her, the driver and two of his friends, came out of the shopping mall and the driver asked me why I was taking a photo of his car.

I told him that it was because he was parked on a wheelchair parking bay, illegally.

He also told me to f…off and asked if I think I am better than he is.

I told him that I am better, as I do not park on wheelchair reserved parking spaces.

He swore at me again and the three individuals got into the Mercedes and drove off.

I reported the Mercedes to the Paraplegic Association Complaints Hotline, 073 853 9675, on their WhatsApp, and sent them the photo with the above details.

A wheelchair parking bay is just for that purpose, wheelchairs.

Not for people with difficulty walking, elderly people or any other condition that still leaves them able to walk.

The spaces are bigger to enable the disabled to open the car door wider to get their wheelchairs out.

It also has special ramps at the parking spaces to enable wheelchair users to access the facilities.

Name and shame these arrogant, self-indulgent scum that call themselves human beings.
