“I was on my way home from the dry cleaners, when I saw a grey Toyota Avanza following me with five occupants,” said the man who wishes to remain anonymous.
Two of the occupants got out of the vehicle, pointed firearms at the man and instructed him to hand over his car keys.
“One of the suspects started hitting me in the face with a gun. After that I got out, car keys in my hand, and we started to fight.”
“A gun shot went off and that’s when I dropped my car keys.”
The hijackers then grabbed the victim’s car keys and sped off with the vehicle.
“Luckily I had another phone on me so I could phone for help. I wasn’t badly injured, except for my face.”
A case of hijacking was opened at the Brakpan Police Station.
