JABBED: Thank you to all the frontline healthcare workers, who are running an incredibly smooth operation at the Dis-Chem East Point vaccination site in Boksburg.
“I received my first of two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, and I feel so much more protected. I hope the rest of you get protected too.”
“After joining the queue of hundreds to get the jab at Dis-Chem East Point on August 6, I felt like Superman once I had been vaccinated!
“The process was safe, quick, smooth and painless. “It was a very special day for me, and I’m grateful to everyone who is playing a part in the roll-out – our hardworking frontline healthcare workers, scientists and researchers.
“Thanks a million also to my colleague, Leshnee Raman, for helping me register and secure an appointment.
“I have to admit, I was initially a bit nervous as one of my friends warned I may suffer side-effects. “However, I felt nothing when the vaccine was administered, in just a few seconds. Other than a minor soreness in my arm the following morning, I had no side-effects. I’m still doing fine, and looking forward to my second shot.
“These vaccines mean hope to me because science tells us they are safe and effective at preventing serious illness. According to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, Covid-19 vaccines are effective in preventing people from spreading the virus and people are less likely to become seriously ill if they do contract the virus.”
