Sportier Volkswagen ID.4 GTX debuts with 220 kW

The ID.4 GTX is fitted with two motors situated at the front and rear axle thus making it an all-wheel-drive vehicle.

The Volkswagen ID.4 was launched recently and for the 2021 model year, the German marque is giving the electric SUV a performance treatment in the form of ID.4 GTX.

The ID.4 GTX is fitted with two motors situated at the front and rear axle thus making it an all-wheel-drive vehicle. Power is now rated at 220 kW from the normal ID.4’s 150 Nm.

It hurtles from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds en route to a top speed of 180 km/h. The standard ID.4 gets the same job done in 8.5 seconds and 160 km/h.

Another feature that lurks in the ID.4 GTX is the auto adjustable AWD system. The AWD system comes to play immediately under intent acceleration prowess.

It rides on a set of standard 20-inch wheels and buyers can upgrade to the optional 21-inches with 358-mm brakes at the front axle.

Volkswagen offers the optional Sports package at an added fee. The package lowers the suspension of the ID.4 GTX by 15 mm and adds progressive steering.

Electricity is provided by a 77-kWh battery pack with up to 480 km of driving range.
