All-new Suzuki Brezza ‘breezes’ into SA, we have prices

Suzuki is expanding its SUV range with the introduction of the Vitara Brezza that slots below the flagship Vitara SUV. 

Available in GL and GLX variants, the new Suzuki Vitara Brezza is already available for purchase across South Africa. 

The new Suzuki Vitara Brezza promises to be a nimble runabout SUV with the same wheelbase of 2 500mm as the Vitara, however, it is shorter by 180 mm, wider by 15 mm and rides 198 mm than the flagship model. 

The range-opening GL runs on 16-inch steel wheels with silver caps while the GLX is fitted with the 16-inch diamond-cut and polished alloys as standard.

The width of the wheels in the GLX has grown from 205 mm to 215 mm. 

The GL variant features a chrome brow headlights and LED daytime running lights while the GLX employs pure LEDs plus automatic projector main LED headlights.

Like the brand’s recent products, the Brezza comes with a U-shaped lower grille as well as a styling bar that is flanked by bold fog lamp surrounds (with LED fog lamps on the GLX) and a lower chin plate in black on the GL and in silver on the GLX.

There are functional roof rails and colour-coded mirrors with LED indicators.

All models boast a floating roof design that is further complemented by a darkened A-pillar and a black insert on the C-pillar. 

The rear is fitted with a U-shaped rear bumper and skid plate mirror. There is also a spoiler on the rear hatch door and an embossed chrome garnish above the number plate enclosure. 

Inside, the new Suzuki Vitara Brezza spawns a new-gen 7-inch touch screen infotainment system as standard. The system allows Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard. 

Other options include Bluetooth, USB port and hands-free control on the steering wheel. 

The new-generation 7-inch touchscreen now displays vehicle information and alerts, including low fuel, door ajar alert and much more.

Suzuki has also added automatic climate control, electric windows all-round, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear parking sensors, remote central locking and a rear armrest with integrated cup holders as standard across the range.

The GLX model comes with leather clad steering that has additional buttons for the cruise control system.

The speedometer and tachometer, which flank a digital information display, are highlighted with adjustable mood lighting with five customisable colours and there are additional interior lights in the foot well, glove box and the luggage compartment.

The GLX model also adds a centre armrest for the front occupants, push-button starter, air-conditioned glove box, height-adjustable front seatbelts, an auto-dimming rear mirror, auto-folding side mirrors, automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 12V port in the luggage area and additional tweeters.

Safety comes courtesy of ABS brakes with emergency brake-force distribution and brake-assistance, airbags for the driver and front passenger, pre-tensioners and force limiters on all seatbelts and ISOFIX-mountings for child seats.

Lastly, vehicle security is cared for with the fitment of an alarm system and immobiliser on all models.

At the heart of the Suzuki Vitara Brezza lurks the familiar K15B that powers the Jimny, Ertiga and Ciaz models. The power output is measured at 77 kW and 138 Nm of torque sent to the front axle via a five-speed manual or a new four-speed automatic transmission. 

The new Suzuki Vitara Brezza comes in six solid and three two-tone colour options; Pearl Arctic White, Premium Silver, Granite Grey, and a very striking Autumn Orange. Owners of the GL specification level can also choose Sizzling Red or Torque Blue.

For buyers who opt for the GLX, there is also a choice of three two-tone colour options. It includes Sizzling Red with a Midnight Black roof, Granite Grey with an Autumn Orange roof and Torque Blue with a Midnight Black roof.
