Pedestrian killed by tyre flying off trailer at Atlas Rd/R21 split
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
A 41-year-old man was killed at the Atlas Road/R21 split on Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a tyre which fell off a trailer.
According to Russel Meiring of ER, paramedics arrived on the scene at 1.44pm to find the body of a man lying on the side of the road. A light motor vehicle and trailer were parked a short distance away.

It is understood a tyre had come off the trailer, rolled a short distance and struck the man who had been walking along the side of the road.
Medics assessed the man and found he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.
