Here are guidelines to keep warm over the course of the weekend:

• Stay indoors. Avoid going out as much as possible, which should not be that difficult since we have been doing it for months following the outbreak of Covid-19.

• Drink hot tea or warm water. You can always infuse your water with lemon, mint, garlic and ginger.

• Prepare warm dishes. Winter season is best known for its warm and delicious dishes, and there is no better time than the present to use the cold front to cook up a storm, from beef and vegetable casserole to vegetable lentil soup.

• Avoid drinking alcohol. Rather substitute this beverage with water.People tend to neglect or avoid drinking water during cold seasons, but water remains important. Water helps protect your immune system from dehydration, which can weaken your immune system.

• Get some exercise. Ever heard the phrase summer bodies are created in winter? Exercising helps keep your body warm while burning some calories.

• Do not forget to stay safe when using a heater, electricity blankets or hot water bottles. Use them with caution and far away from children.
