Heavyweights International Comedy hits the Big Top

South African, Nigerian and American comedians unite for a once-off, not-to-be-missed, outrageously funny comedy showcase, Heavyweights International Comedy, at Carnival City’s Big Top on December 11.

diverse ensemble of local and international headliners includes AY (Nigeria), Gina Yashere (US), Thenjiwe (SA), Trevor Gumbi (SA) and supported by Tumi Stopnonsons (SA) and Nina Hastie (SA).

All established comedians in their own right, each brings their own unique brand of comedy to the event, with the promise of huge laughs for all.

In the driver’s seat as host for the evening is none other than the charming and equally hilarious, Tol Ass Mo.

Another massive draw card for the show, he is a Xhosa comedian straight out of Tembisa.

Like many comedians who have gone on to become household names in this country, Tol Ass Mo is a comedian from very humble beginnings.

His material mainly comprises of stories of his childhood, as well his encapsulations and observations of the absurdities that come with living in modern-day South Africa.

Tol Ass Mo has made a huge impact on the local comedy industry, holding his own among some of the country’s best in a growing list of performances and appearances.

“These are top comedians who also came through the ranks over the years. Expect a side-splitting, laugh-a-minute showcase of Africa and America’s quirky humour,” said Matthew Cook, events and entertainment manager at Carnival City.
