Local RnB songstress set to take the music industry by storm

Born and bred in Reiger Park and still lives there, Montessa Plane, (aka Montezz), promises to take the music world by storm.

The up-and-coming, gifted young musician recently released her first single, titled ”I work hard”, which she hopes will touch the public’s heart by inspiring, motivating and comforting them.

According to Montessa’s manager, Jeanette Chabalala, the Afro-pop and RnB songstress is fast becoming the darling of South Africa.

“She hails from humble beginnings but is well on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned in the music industry,” said Chabalala.

The 22-year-old Montessa started singing at an early age, in church, in school and competing in local talent shows, where she impressed audiences with her natural singing ability.

Montessa said singing comes naturally to her – that is what she grew up doing and she has always loved it.

“My new single, titled ‘I work hard’ is meant to inspire, motivate and to remind the youth that, in order to achieve your goals you must work hard.

“I enjoy what I do and I’ve put a lot of time and a lot of love into it.

“No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid and they can only be achieved if you stay focused and put your best effort into them,” she added.

Montessa, however, admitted that there is great pressure in the industry, but mentioned that she believes that if you really love it, if you truly love it and it is your passion to sing, then that’s what will get you through.

There was this whole journey between starting and finding her way to this point, where she realised that singing, which she always enjoyed growing up, was actually her calling.

Montessa hopes that music lovers will get behind her and enjoy the music as much as she does.

Through her record label ”Shadow-G”, Montessa is also actively involved in many charity projects aimed at fostering social and economic development.

These include working with charitable organisations to raise money for education for the underprivileged.

Montessa is armed with a certificate in marketing and is currently working in a call centre. @FanieFLK
