Jam-packed entertainment lineup at Carnival City in July

Winter is anything but grey at Sun International’s colourful Carnival City, where sizzling entertainment is promised whatever the weather.

There is a super-charged lineup of entertainment on the cards for the rest of July.

On Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, a stellar cast of South African artists will convene in the Big Top Arena, for yet another foot-stomping party, Krone 2.

Krone favourites gracing the stage again for this year’s show are Kurt Darren, Nicholis Louw, Ray Dylan, Heinz Winckler and Snotkop.

They will be joined by a line-up of talented guest artists, including Elizma Theron, Liezel, Andriëtte, Manie Jackson and Adam Tas, among others.

Fans are promised an all-new feast of words and melodies – from golden oldies to some of the latest chart toppers.

They will also get to sing along to their hearts’ content, following the lyrics to a series of medleys, which will be shown on massive screens in the Big Top Arena.

Carnival City’s Mardi Gras Theatre also hosts spectacular shows.

From July 22 to 26, one of the most successful stage comedies in London’s West End, Tom, Dick and Harry, in South Africa presented as My Boetie se Boetie se Boetie se Baba, by Ray and Michael Cooney, will be running in the theatre.

Adapted and translated by Frans Swart, this show promises to have audiences rolling in the aisles.

It tells the hilarious story of Tom Koekemoer and his wife Linda, who are in the process of adopting a baby.

For the kiddies, on Saturday, July 25, South Africa’s beloved Liewe Heksie is back with two brand new Liewe Heksie stories; Liewe Heksie en die Tuindwergie and Liewe Heksie en Botterblom.

As always, there is a talented cast of performers who play out the stories on stage, with beautiful costumes and sets to make the stories more vivid for young people.

At the end of the month, the theatre will dance to life with the vibrant sound, glitz and glamour of Bollywood,when the acclaimed Indian music spectacular, Dostana, begins its run on July 31.

Direct from India, this captivating show features a cast of well known Bollywood performers including Indian Idols finalist and heartthrob Rajdeep Chatterjee, actress from the popular series Punar Vivah, Srishty Rode, and singer/dancer, Goldiee.

The captivating show, choreographed by Nirav Goradia, is enthralling entertainment for the whole family, with popular Bollywood hits, professional dancers from India, a touch of warming comedy and brilliant costumes. Dostana plays out at the Mardi Gras at 8pm on Friday, July 31, at 3pm and 8pm on Saturday, August 1, and at 3pm on Sunday, August 2.
