Meet the singers performing:

* David Beretta Owens

Dave is a performer who likes to indulge in everything, from folk to heavy metal.

He was the lead vocalist and guitarist for the ’90s hard rock band Lithium, who headlined every major South African festival, and supported Iron Maiden on their South African tour in 1995.

Dave’s acoustic rock band, N8ive, worked with Skwatta Kamp to produce one of the first hip-hop/rock collaborations the country had ever seen and he released his first solo album in 2011.

* Jay Wilton

Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer and performer, Jay, began his music career as a drummer for local punk rock legends, The Slashdogs.

He later began composing his own works and started a band called The Cavalier, which captured the attention of DSTV channel MK, where the band was nominated for best animation and their song Roses are Dead, Heartbreak is True reached the number two spot in the Tuksfm Top 100 chart.

Jay then further expanded his musical horizon by performing a headlining slot at Ramfest, last year, singing with DJ Iamnoize on the dance stage, after Double Adapter. He is currently working on the release of his solo project, Jay Jeopardy.

* Danny de Wet

Drummer, vocalist and songwriter for top South African rock acts eVoid, Petit Cheval, The Electric Petals and Wonderboom.

In the ’90s he co-owned Wings Beat Bar and, as part of the marketing division at David Gresham Records, signed Prime Circle and broke Nickelback in this territory.

Thereafter, at Sovereign Records, he was the key publicist responsible for the incredible success The Parlotones have achieved.

Through the years, Danny has toured and been involved in a myriad of events as a performer (played to an audience of 117 000 at the ’80s Concert In the Park and toured with Simple Minds, Live, Rodriguez, Mike and The Mechanics and The Mission) and also, as part of his record company role, managed and arranged promotional tours for international artists Feeder, Ben Lee, Missy Higgins, Starsailor, Soulfly and Ash.

* Jon Preston

Vocalist extraordinaire Jon Preston played his first festival at 19 years of age, as the bass player in Danny de Wet’s solo project, The Lowveld Garage Band.

He then fronted new millennium punk stalwarts Ill Audio, whose single, Happy Song, received high rotation on the 5FM Powerzone show, hosted by South African alternative icon Barney Simon.

Jon then joined forces with Jay Wilton, in a band called Fight at the Opera, which blew audiences away with a memorable show at the Woodstock 2008 festival.

Jon ”lives in melody” and makes no apologies for succumbing to passion and losing all sense of reality in performances.

Hey Now, Hey Now Now will be staged at the Barnyard Theatre, Emperors Palace, on Friday, February 6, at 8pm.
