Christian metal band launches debut album

East Rand Christian heavy metal band, Forfeit Thee Untrue, has released their eight-track debut album, entitled Blood Soaked Splinter, which is also available in digital format.

The band is signed with Kansas-based Sanctus Gladius Records, an international record company.

The band has broken all stereotypes about both Christian and metal music, aiming to reach an audience with a love of heavy, intense, energetic music, along with a positive Christian message and content.

Their quest to change the face of Christian and metal music has not been an easy one.

Due to the nature of their music, churches refuse to allow them to play at their congregations, as well as music stores informing them that there is no market for Christian metal music, refusing to distribute their CD’s.

Craig Palmer, who is the band’s drummer, is not discouraged by this.

“This pushes us to work even harder. The more opposition we get, the more it means we are doing something right,” says Palmer.

Since the launch of their album, the band has decided that instead of waiting for a distribution deal to get their music in stores, they will instead take the music to the people through a “meet and greet”.

They have been performing and marketing their album and merchandise at various shopping malls and centers, where they interact with their fans and take pictures with them.

Their next “meet and greet” will be on the following dates:

* July 20: Lakefield Square, Northrand Road, Benoni.

* August 10: Music Mate, Northrand Road, Boksburg (K90 Centre).

Their album already has two tracks (track two and four), which have been selected for rock compilations in South Africa.

To see Forfeit Thee Untrue perform, catch them at Crossroads, Boksburg, on November 9.
