Blackball United teams end league on a high note

Blackball United is already preparing for the upcoming season.

Blackball United teams performed exceptionally well in the Eastern League.

The chairperson and head coach of Blackball United, Muzi Masuku, seized the opportunity to praise the various teams after the conclusion of the Eastern League on September 24.

“I am proud of all the performances of my teams. They all finished in the top three, with the U13 team winning the league. The U12 team, one of the runner-ups in the Eastern League, beat Rovers FC in the final match of the Easterns Local Football Association Cup Games at Benoni Northerns on September 17,” said Masuku.

He said the U10 team finished third in the league but finished as runner-up in the Eastern Cup, losing to Bonaero 74.

“It was a tough final match with both teams going at each other.

“The U11 team came third in the league, with the U15 team finishing as runner-ups,” he mentioned.

He said they are already looking forward to growth in 2024, although there was progress in the current season.

“As a club, we want to develop our players. Our pre-season planning has already begun. We are going to play friendly matches and in various soccer pre-season tournaments,” he explained.

He added they will take their players to trials among big teams such as Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

He mentioned they will honour their players on November 5, who have done well throughout the season.
“I am happy with the progress and aim to keep the momentum in the upcoming season,” he concluded.
