Boksburg FC players selected for Eastern soccer squads

The players are determined to do well for the Eastern soccer teams.

Three players of Boksburg FC U12, Cade Louw, Abriam Finnies and Pule Matuka and one U15 player Tayler Vrolik displayed remarkable performances during the provincial trials, which led them to be selected for the Eastern soccer squads.

Vrolik, who was filled with joy when interviewed by Boksburg Advertiser, said he is happy that his hard work has paid off.

“I had a hard time in the league this season, but I’m glad I didn’t give up. There was a time I wanted to give up on my soccer career because nothing was going well.

“I had bad games, but my coach and parents encouraged me to continue and I’m glad I listened to them. I’m expecting to do my best in the Eastern U15 team and I will surely give it my all,” said Vrolik.
He added that he has been playing for Boksburg FC for three years and he is enjoying the experience.
“Soccer has been my life, I started playing it at the age of nine, but I started to take it seriously recently when I saw a match between Manchester City and another team. The match inspired me,” he added.

Louw said he was not expecting to be selected for the Eastern U12 team.

“Although I doubted that I was going to be selected, I still put in the work and I guess that worked out good. My favourite player is Mohamed Salah and I aspire to be like him and be the best striker. My aim is to play professional football one day,” explained Louw.

Abriam, a goalkeeper of Boksburg U12, said his favourite goalkeeper is Richard Ofori, who plays for Orlando Pirates.

“He inspired me to pull out my spectacular performance in the trials. My aim is to have a clean sheet in the Eastern U12 team.

“I want to be the best goalkeeper in South Africa and hopefully play for one of the big teams in South Africa one day.”
Coaches of the U12s, Sheldon Louw, and U15s, Heinrich Loxton and Michael Manual, said they are proud of their players.
“The players deserve the opportunity and we wish all of them the best,” said the coaches.
