Sensei proud of students for dominating provincials

“Congratulations to all who participated. We are proud of every single one of them.”

The South Africa Japan Karate Association (SAJKA) Benoni dojo students recently won 36 medals at the Gauteng JKA Championships at the Ellis Park Indoor Arena.

The club won 11 gold, two silver and four bronze medals for kumite. They also won 13 gold, two silver and four bronze for kata.

According to chief instructor and dojo head Mike Forner, the students won medals in 36 of the 45 events in the competition.

Furthermore, some members qualified for next month’s SAJKA national event at the Ellis Park Indoor Arena.

“Congratulations to all who participated. We are proud of every one of them,” said Forner.
