Deidrè to lead BCA’s Athletes Commission

“I want to represent the interests of African badminton players and promote the development of the sport in the region.”

Benonian Deidrè Laurens Jordaan is the new chairperson of the Badminton Confederation Africa (BCA) Athletes Commission.

Jordaan was elected with Egyptian Adham Hatem and Mauritian Tejraj Pultoo to represent athletes on the continent and support them in succeeding in their sporting careers.

They will ensure the BCA and its member federations hear the voices of every badminton athlete on the continent.

“I want to represent the interests of African badminton players and promote the development of the sport in the region,” she told the BCA.

Jordaan is not new to the administration, having served as the chairperson of the University Sports South Africa badminton and a member of Badminton South Africa’s events committee.

She’s also the secretary of the Eastern Gauteng Badminton Association.
