AstroPlex Benoni will host the annual Spring Six-a-Side Junio Soccer Festival on October 8 and 9 at Benoni Lake Club.
The tournament will commence with a competition for U13, U15 and U17 teams on October 8 from 14:00 to 20:00. It will be followed by a social non-competitive event on October 9 featuring U7, U9 and U11 teams from 09:00.
Last year, the tournament, held in conjunction with the City Times’ Be a Sports project, raising funds for the Black Panthers FC from Daveyton, which needed soccer kit and equipment.
“We are expecting teams from all over Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga. We are looking forward to a fun-filled weekend where junior players and their families can enjoy a beautiful day out,” said AstroPlex chairman Abdul Rehman Sibda.
Registration is R500 per team and the winners will walk away with medals and hampers from Broadway Sweets.
