Blackball United in need of sponsors

The Club currents trains at the Boksburg Stadium from 16:30 to 18:00.

The founder of Blackball United, Muzi Masuku, is appealing for sponsors for the soccer club.

Masuku said they are collaboratively contributing to the needs of their players, along with his management members, but sponsors would be helpful.

“We transport our players to matches and buy them food, boots and kit from our own pockets, which is costly. Sponsors won’t regret getting involved as we are a club committed to developing young players,” he said.
The club is developing players as young as six.

“Many of our players play for big teams, such as Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport and Mamelodi Sundowns, thanks to our training.

“Our objective is to nurture players and make sure we provide them with an opportunity to play for well-established clubs before the age of 13,” Masuka said.

He added that his club has expanded tremendously.

It only had two teams when first introduced to Boksburg residents in 2019, but now boasts over six teams of different age groups.

“My son motivated me to start the team. When he kicked a soccer ball at the age of two, I could see his talent and began seeking a coach for him, but no one was willing to work with my child. They all said he was too young.

“I then decided to coach and train him myself. When he turned six I realised that he was getting bored because it was only the two of us training,” said Masuku.

This is when the dad decided to encourage other young boys to join them in their training sessions.

“I used the same training schedule that I used on my son to train the others and my son was helping the other boys with exercises We all enjoyed the training and a team was formed out of that bond we formed.

“I plan to form an East Rand academy. With the right sponsors, funds and a good field this is possible,” said Masuku.
