‘Two Guns’ Lerena to battle Wach for vacant heavyweight title

This is Lerena's second fight in the heavyweight division.

Kevin ‘Two Guns’ Lerena will take on Polish giant Mariusz ‘The Viking’ Wach in a ‘David vs Goliath’ battle for the vacant WBA intercontinental heavyweight title at Emperors Palace on September 17.

The 30-year-old South African goes into this match on the back of fourth-round knock-out win over Bogdan Dinu in March, in his debut in the heavyweight division.

Wach will offer Lerena a different challenge all together.

Towering at 2.02m with a reach of 2.08cm and weighing in at 120kg, the 42-year old Pole is a 44-fight veteran boasting a 36-8 record with 19 KOs. He has fought an array of top heavyweights including Wladimir Klitschko, Dillan Whyte and Darrell Miller.

The main fight will be supported by Tshifhiwa Munyai who will defend his South Africa lightweight champion against Lusanda Komanisi.
