Woodlands U7 conquers teams in Easterns league

The team is already preparing for the upcoming Easterns League.

Woodlands International Football Academy U7 team won the 2022 Easterns Local Football Association League.
They were announced champions when they thrashed Springs Old Boys Football Club 4-0 during their last league game on September 3.

The coach of the team Ingrid Ruiters said she is happy to win the league.

“I feel relieved that I won the league. For me, it’s a blessing from God. I was always hoping to win the league. Life is full of challenges and contests, and everyone is trying to come out on top, but I’m glad that I’m the one who came out on top this time around.

“On my journey to winning the league, I faced obstacles which were refereeing and coaching conflicts, but I didn’t let them hinder my progression in the league.

“My formula to winning the league was the mental preparation I applied to my team players, my offensive philosophy, staying focused on the price and making sure my team players practice a lot before matches.”

She said building the character of the players is as important as redeveloping skills if you want to win matches.

“I taught my players how to show respect and empathy and the importance of team spirit and sportsmanship through my own actions and words.

“Those values and teachings that I imparted to my players paid off during league matches,” said Ruiters.
