Brits pulls out a stunning performance

This was his last bodybuilding competition for the year.

Jannie ‘JJ’ Brits (32), who reigned in the IBFF Mister and Miss Universe in May, has gone on to bag a black belt in the IBFF All Africa Cup bodybuilding competition at Gold Reef City Lyric Theatre on September 16.

The competition comprised more than 200 athletes from all over the country.

Brits said he will cherish what he accomplished in the tournament forever.

“I garnered for the black belt after winning my pro card in May this year in Italy. It was always my goal to win my pro lineup and get the black belt in the process.”

He mentioned that he trained differently for the All-Africa Cup competition.

“My preparation for the recent competition was different from others. It took me three months to prepare for it. This was my last competition for 2023; I will compete again next year. I achieved more than I expected this year. I have a couple of photoshoots I signed up for,” he mentioned.

Brits said to be one of the best bodybuilders you have to be committed and dedicated; most importantly, you have to sacrifice most of your time.

“My favourite bodybuilder is Chris Bumstead from Canada. He has always been my inspiration. He is one of the reasons why I chose to become a classic bodybuilder.

“Every bodybuilder knows Chris and I want to also reach that pinnacle. I want people to also know my name,” he explained.

Brits added that bodybuilding taught him a lot of things about life.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank my two sponsors Psycho Skull and Irvine Renovations, including my wife Jene who has always been supportive of me,” he concluded.
