Young athlete needs sponsors

Keamogetswe is a talented sportswoman with 38 medals.

Keamogetswe Lefifi is a 12-year-old netballer, athlete, golfer and hockey player from Windmill Park.

She has amassed 38 medals in her sporting career since she first took to the sportsfields in 2017. Among the medals are 25 gold, seven silver and six bronze.

The youngster also has a trophy and six certificates to her name.

The awards she won last year for being the best sports girl, best athlete and best hockey development player for 2022.

In June, Keamogetswe, a Grade Seven learner at Van Dyk Primary, represented Eastern Gauteng at a hockey tournament in Pietermaritzburg, where she was awarded best sports girl, best athlete and best hockey development player for 2022.

According to her mom, Mmule, her daughter is strong, talented, powerful and energetic.
“She has a positive attitude and gives her best in everything she does.

“Keamogetswe is part of St Dominic’s hockey club and plays for the school team. She is also an athlete. At school, she runs 80m, 100m and 150m and does hurdles and also runs these distances as a sprinter for the Central Gauteng Athletics team,” said Mmule.

She said her daughter tried her best to juggle her sports and schoolwork. A personal tutor gives her after-school lessons to help her balance this.

Mmule explained that she also checked her daughter’s schoolwork and, as a parent, supported and motivated her to do her best.

“Nowadays, it is not easy to raise a young girl. So many fall victim to drugs and even become pregnant. That is why Keamogetswe plays sports – to keep her away from such things.

Keamogetswe needs a sponsor to fund her trip to the PSI North juniors U12 tournament in Durban from October 6 to 8.

Anyone wanting to sponsor her can call Mmule on 072 237 7326 or email Kegolefifi90@gmail.com/Kegoballo53@gmail.com
