Gabriel house takes gala honours

Swimming and spirit stick competition inter-house gala

St Dominic’s hosted a senior inter-house gala on April 4 where the learners competed for the honours in their respective houses.

The teams, Gabriel (red), Michael (blue) and Raphael (yellow), competed in swimming and cheering.

To win the coveted ‘spirit stick’, the houses had to bring their loudest supporter voices.

The winner keeps the stick for a month.

Holding the spirit stick is Rabi Mobeng, the deputy head girl and head of the three houses.

Gabriel emerged as the winner of the gala after scooping 368 points.

Michael house learners Tania Gumbi (left), Mufaro Nhamburo, Mathakha Madzivhandila, Paballo Thoabala and Simmy Khumalo.

Michael house was second with 233 points and Raphael third with 229 points.

Raphael team members Babantle Montle, Lizwi Maseko and Siyanda Chaki.

The spirit stick winner was a tie between Michael and Raphael.
