Mixed results for BCC

Boksburg Cricket Club is determined to do better in its next match.

Boksburg Cricket Club(BCC) played two clubs on October 23 in the Easterns Cricket T20 Premiership on home soil.

Boksburg Cricket Club won the match against Midrand Cricket Club with seven wickets and lost to Kempton Park Cricket Club with nine wickets. Boksburg was sitting at 187/3 innings against Midrand and lost by 88/1 innings against Kempton Park.

During the game against Kempton Park, Marno Grobler of Boksburg Cricket Club had a good game with 16 runs in four balls in the overall game, although his team didn’t win.

Two players of the visiting side (Kempton Park Cricket Club) produced splendid performances. Juandre Johnson scored 41 runs from 14 balls and Ruan van der Skyff scored 44 runs from 19 balls.

The Kempton Park Cricket Club captain, Johan Fourie, said he is happy with his teammates’ performance and is looking forward to the match they are going to play against Midrand at Willowmoore Park Stadium next weekend.

“We hope to also win the upcoming match and continue in our winning form. I know we will be playing against a tough opponent, but our main priority is to collect the points,” said Fourie.

The Boksburg Cricket Club captain Akhtar Rasul said their plans as the Boksburg Cricket Club this season are simple. They just want to improve their way of playing.

“We want to win more cricket games. This is a young team that is learning everyday. It has what it takes to win the T20. As a team we will go back to the drawing board and assess what type of mistakes we made and ensure we don’t repeat them in our next cricket match,” said Rasul.
