Boksburg FC U12 too good for Springs Old Boys

Boksburg FC will play an away game against Olympia next.

Boksburg FC U12 thrashed Springs Old Boys 5-1 at PG Park on July 23 during the Easterns Local Football Association (ELFA) league two encounter.

The young Blues kicked off the match with a winning spirit by having an attacking technique and implementing an offensive style of play.

Springs Old Boys had the first attempt in the early minutes of the game but shot-stopper, Abriam Finnies, denied the opposition for an opener.

The goal attempt of the opposition catalysed the home team as they started to push harder with the striker Cade Louw opening the scoring with a calmly slotted side foot that left the Old Boys goalie in no man’s land.

With few minutes before the stoppage time whistle, a harsh tackle inside the box by an Old Boys defender to top goalscorer, Pule Matuka, resulted in Boksburg FC being awarded a penalty. The game went to halftime with the Blues leading by two goals courtesy of Cade Louw and Finnies.

The second half started with the Blues scoring an early goal by Louw but the opposition managed to pull one back through a deflected shot that left Finnies stranded.

Springs Old Boys conceded another penalty through a lapse in concentration by the Old Bens defender who handled the ball deliberately in the box. The penalty was then converted by the goalie, Finnies.

The final nail in the coffin came just five minutes before time when a brilliant interplay between Pule Matuka and Cade Louw resulted in Louw sealing his hattrick.

Boksburg FC U12 coach, Lloyd Adams, mentioned it was a tough match but the boys composed themselves and showed great maturity.

“I am happy with the result as it leaves us top of the table with six games left. Going forward, every game will be treated as a cup final and I’m confident that we will end the league with positive results,” said Adams.
