Mjovo Soccer School ready to take in young players

"My aim is to produce good players that will play in the DStv Premiership."

Founder and coach of Mjovo Soccer School Senzo Ngwazi said his soccer academy is now taking in players.

He said his main objective with the soccer school is to groom soccer players from a young age; hence, he is only taking players from seven to 13 years of age.

“We offer players an opportunity to go to trials in most DStv Premiership teams and obtain a refereeing qualification through a scholarship.I formed this academy because I love soccer and know what it takes to be a professional player. I used to be a soccer player myself.

“Any person who brings his or her child to our academy will be helping them become a professional player because we teach every player the fundamental skills, techniques and drills of football.

“I did a coaching course at Safa and obtained a ‘D’ licence coaching certificate; therefore, I’m only allowed to coach players between ages seven and 13. Our training sessions are on Wednesdays and Fridays from 16:00 to 17:00 behind St Michael’s Primary School in Boksburg CBD.

“Every player has to pay an R1 500 joining fee and they will receive our playing kit and a tracksuit. There’s also a R250 monthly coaching fee that every player has to pay,” said Ngwazi.

He said he formed his academy in 2015 and throughout those years, he has learned it is important to groom soccer players from a young age for their potential is discovered early, which widens their opportunity of playing professional football.
