Aquatic Saints rake in the medals

The club is proud of their students' performances.

Members from the Boksburg Aquatic Saints Life Savers recently achieved impressive results at the prestigious DHL 2022 South African Still Water and Surf Life Saving Nationals, held in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) from March 21 till March 26.

The Aquatic Saints’ junior men represented the club well, coming eighth overall out of 20 clubs present with only three athletes.

Aiden Bornman obtained four gold medals (200m obstacle, 100m rescue medley, 100m manikin with fins and 50m manikin carry) in the pool in the men’s 16-17 age category and a bronze medal in the run/swim/run surf event.

Bornman also broke the current South African Record in the 100m Rescue Medley, breaking the South African record in the heats and then breaking his own South African record again in the final.

Tiago Goncalves achieved one bronze medal in the men’s 16-17 category for the 100m manikin tow and tube.

Armand Jubber obtained a bronze medal in the 200m super lifesaver men’s 16- 17 category and numerous personal best times

Furthermore, the BAS Nippers also did very well. Layla Nixon and Luke Jones improved on their personal best time.

Boksburg Aquatic Saints coaches and club are beyond proud of its team and will be rested and ready to begin training in July 2022.
