Three swimmers from the Boksburg-based Onyx Aquatic Club, all students from Boksburg High School, performed well at the OR Tambo Soncini Games at Delville Swimming Pool on November 6.
The results are as follows:
• Keagan Odendaal won gold in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 100m freestyle, 200m individual medley, silver in the 50m butterfly and bronze in relay.
• Awande Mlangeni won gold in 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 50 freestyle and silver in the 200m freestyle
• Eunietta Odendaal won the 50m freestyle.
“All three swimmers represented the club and their school with great pride. They train at Boksburg Virgin Active at the K90 Centre.
“Both Keagan and Eunietta have had a serious case of Covid-19 recently, which kept them from training, and yet they have come back fighting.
Team Onyx is very proud of all the swimmers and their achievements at the gala,” said Angela Meehan.
