Qhubeka AC launches its time trial route

New athletic club continues to grow.

Newly-founded Qhubeka Athletics Club (QAC) in Boksburg held its time trial route launch in Sunward Park on Freedom Day.

The day began with athlete registration, and all Covid-19 protocols were followed.

“The run went very fast for everyone. I’m not sure if the athletes were all rushing for the physiotherapy session (courtesy of Gift Physio and Partners) or the refreshments at the finishing line,” enthused the club’s founder, Benzi Tenza.

Athletes had the option of running or walking multiple distances in the four and eight, 12, 16, 24 and 32km distances.

Every registered QAC runner received a QAC mask at the end of their run.

“QAC would like to thank all the athletes who took part in the route launch,” added Tenza.

“Without the athletes, there is no Qhubeka. QAC would also like to appreciate the stunning work done by the volunteers and the QAC committee members who worked tirelessly in the background to make this launch a success.”

QAC is an inclusive athletics club that aims at encouraging and providing opportunities for all its members to take part in walking, hiking, jogging, cross-country and road running at all performance levels.
