Local swimming quartet invited to PE

Olympic Games quest continues for BAC 4.

Boksburg Aquatic Club quartet of Aiden Bornman, Divan Pretorius, Jaiden Staines and Kian Keylock has been invited to the Swimming South Africa’s (SSA) latest leg of the Olympic trials as final preparations for the impending Tokyo Olympic Games loom.
The trials are scheduled to be held between April 7 and 12 in Port Elizabeth, which was recently renamed Gqeberha.

The invite arrives at the back of the previous leg of SSA’s Olympic trials, which saw the four impress in Stellenbosch recently.

The latest invitation for the four was confirmed by their coach, Wade Marshall.

Meanwhile, according to the organisers of the imminent event, all swimmers, coaches, visiting officials and support staff will all be accommodated in a bubble as the fight against the coronavirus continues.

Marshall explained to the Advertiser that he had not yet completed the respective entries for the swimmers by the time this article was written, so it was still unclear as to which swim disciplines his students were going to take on in the Eastern Cape.

However, the swimmers are expected to participate in more-or-less the same disciplines as they respectively did in Stellenbosch where Keylock was also named the Best Junior Male.
