Blues vets climb to top three

Blues vets getting a head of steam

The Boksburg Football Club’s veteran side climbed to third on the Eastern Local Football Association Division 2 table following their 2-1 home victory against Alberton at the Boksburg City Stadium on November 25.

The Blues benefited from an own goal in the first stanza before forward Johannes Mkahanjwa netted the decisive goal as the home side made great strides on the ELFA standings thanks to their second successive victory in as many weeks.

The Blues will have a chance to climb further up the table this week when they travel to face second placed Rovers in Alberton on December 2.

Following three rounds of play, Kempton Park lead the standings with three wins from three, followed by Rovers and Boksburg who are second and third respectively with seven points each, with only goal difference separating the two.

Elsewhere, CBC Old Boys lie in seventh on the 10-team log after collecting one point from their first three encounters.
