Friday deadline for Colgate Race

Time running out to enter for Colgate race

The popular Colgate Road Race, hosted by the Boksburg Athletic Club, has followed the trend for 2020 and will join the growing list of virtual races, with athletes having the option to complete the 32km, 15km or 5km run.

The 41st edition of the annual race is scheduled to take place on October 18.

Entry fee for all distances is R80, entries close on October 9.

Entries can be made at www.colgateroadrace.co.za, Webtickets or any Pick n Pay store.

The original race, which was scheduled to take place in May, was forced to be cancelled due to the pandemic and for all 2020 entrants, entry fees will be deferred to the 2021 Colgate Road Race.

The virtual race will offer runners the chance to ‘compete’ by measuring their own runs and submitting the timing details to results.finishtime.co.za.

Finishers are urged to upload their results through Strava, Garmin Link or manually to the FinishTime results page before 10am on October 19.

All finishers of all distances will receive a Colgate medal and T-shirt; medals and T-shirts can either be collected from Decathlon stores in Boksburg,

Alberton, Centurion or Roodepoort – or finishers have the option to have medals posted to them. Postal details must be completed when runners enter on the Webtickets.co.za website.

All the goodie bags for this year’s cancelled race were donated to charities. Colgate will double this and donate another goodie bag for every entry received for the virtual edition.
