Breakthrough in East United captaincy

The nominations have arrived at two names

The lockdown might have put life on hold, but it hasn’t slowed down East Rand United coach Alvandre Maart from working tirelessly behind the scenes.

As part of the club’s first team rebuilding process, the trainer has been busy with a process of carefully choosing his new captain for this season going forward.

The need for a new team skipper arose after former skipper and flank Jonathan Botha left the club during the off-season.

Although the coach is still keeping his cards close to his chest as far as making the announcement public yet, the nominations have arrived at two names: a forward and a backline player.

An announcement will be made as soon as Maart arrives to his final decision on who will officially replace Botha.

The coach has also revealed to the Advertiser that an additional two recruitments to strengthen the squad have been completed.

The names of the new additions will be revealed before the end of the month. – @SabeloBoksburg
