Veteran fitness competitor Wilbers stars in IFBB competitions

Next on her calendar is the Fire and Ice provincial competition scheduled to take place in Sandton on August 24.

Sunward Park fitness veteran Penny Wilbers is showing no signs of slowing down as per her latest activities in the bodybuilding industry have attested.

Wilbers recently took part in two International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) events in Europe over the same weekend, making it into the top five in every category she entered.

The IFBB European Championship and the IFBB Miss Universe both took place earlier this month in Pulsano, Italy, and Taranto, also in Italy.

In the European Championship, Wilbers finished second in the Miss Fitness over 40 category and in the Miss Fitness class before settling for fourth position in the Miss Fitness over 35 class.

Soon after that will be the World Championships, which will be organised in the country on September 7 before another World Championship tournament in Slovenia in October.

“I’m happy with my results as I’m 52 years-old and I did so well in the over 35 and over 40 categories,” she said.
