Local bowling club hosts outh African National Championships of Bowls for the Disabled

The tournament hosted blind and disabled players with blind players categorised between stages B1 to B4 and disabled players classed between B5 to B8.

The Boksburg Bowling Club recently hosted the South African National Championships of Bowls for the Disabled.

The local club co-hosted the event with the Delville Bowling Club which ran between June 15 and 21. The latter club hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the annual tournament.

BBC representative Joe Jacobs, who is also the club’s former president, said: “We are very fortunate and privileged to host such a tournament. Everything went very well and the tournament was very well received.

“A lot of positive compliments were forwarded for the club after the tournament.”
