Rain frustrates cricket skippers

Both sides made it to the league’s top six courtesy of some great cricket played – particularly on the bowling front.

Boksburg’s two Eastern Cricket Premier League captains were left wondering “what if?” after their respective matches were called off due to wet pitches following the recent sustained rainfall in the province.

Both CMH Boksburg Cricket Club and CBC Old Boys were scheduled to face Benoni Northerns away and Actonville Spurs at home respectively, but were forced to settle for two points each instead of the probable four.

It was an outcome that saw Casey Arnold of Old Boys and Adam Forbes of Boksburg begin their Sunday on a rather disappointing note.

“I don’t mind the two points, but I would’ve liked a result, we did beat them the last time,” expressed Forbes, referring to the defeat they inflicted on title favourites Northerns, which was their first of the campaign.

Arnold echoed his counterpart’s views.

“It’s not ideal but nothing we can do.”
