Harran to motor forward at championships

With two rounds of the championship left, including the September 29 leg, Harran, who’s the defending champion, is likely to relinquish his title to Gildenhuys, unless a miracle happens.

Local biker Brent Harran will be looking to cement his runner-up position during round seven of the Michelin Super Motard Championship in Polokwane on September 29.

Following a disappointing outing during round five where the Sunward Park rider fell 32 points adrift of points leader Greg Gildenhuys, Harran cut the deficit to 23 points in Pretoria late last month during round six.

Twelve points separate Harran and the biker who completes the top three.

Harran qualified in pole position during round six in Pretoria before finishing fourth in the first race. He went on to finish third and second in races two and three respectively.

Gildenhuys’ finishing positions were 3-5-4.
