Junior Blues win six-goal thriller

Coincidentally, the Junior Blues emerged as winners by the same scoreline in the reverse game in Randburg after the two teams had gone to the break deadlocked at one-all.

The Boksburg Football Club’s u-17 side completed a come-from-behind win in a six-goal entertainer during their Eastern Super League fixture against Randburg at Prince George Park on Sunday, June 24.

In a closely contested match, especially in the midfield area where the teams cancelled each other, the Blues won 4-2.

The visitors enjoyed a 2-0 half-time lead, much to the worry of the home side faithful, except coach Ernest Seforo.

“I was relaxed, I could see the game was balanced,” said Seforo about his mindset at the break.

“I could see the boys were pushing and playing very well. I didn’t say a word to the boys at the half-time break. The team manager addressed them. They thought I was angry at them but I was actually relaxed, I knew Randburg would get tired.

“Same thing happened in the reverse match we played them. They started strong and took the lead after nine minutes of play before we equalised moments before half-time. It was all us from there. They were already tired. I actually think we should have scored more goals.”
