Big breakthrough for Pitbull Dojo Boksburg star

The local fighter will make his debut against Pieter ‘The Wolfman’ de Klerk tonight at Carnival City (Saturday, April 28).

Following a third straight round one win in his Extreme Warriors Championship young career where he was crowned the organization’s first bantamweight champion, Billy Oosthuizen caught the eye of big-time MMA organisation EFC.

Oosthuizen has been true to his nickname ‘The Pitbull’ in his approach to his fights – viciously making quick work of his opponents.

Before his crowning at the recent EWC 8 show, he registered the quickest fight in the organisation’s history that saw him TKO Siyabonga Zulu in 29 seconds at EWC 7.

His hard-to-ignore exploits inside the cage have earned him a contract he recently signed with EFC.

The exciting fighter said: “At this moment, it feels too good to be true – it’s crazy! It means everything to me, it’s the start of my dream.”

Quizzed on his mental state about the fight, which will open proceedings of EFC 69, Oosthuizen admitted: “It’s a bit stressful but I need to show what I can do, so winning is the only option.

“My opponent doesn’t have a good record, so he will get irritated when I just dance around. The fight will not go the distance,” assured the champion.

“I want to thank my coach Thinus du Plessis and gym mates Matthew du Plessis and Robert Swanepoel; my fiancé Wilna Marais for all the support and my supplement sponsor Ackermans Pharmacy for the help. Also thanks to EFC for giving me the opportunity.”
